There are pastors who teach God’s Word and then there are “pastors” who make up things. While Charles Stanley of In Touch Ministries is respected for preaching God’s Word, his son Andy Stanley has been known to drift from God’s truth. The latest Andy Stanley false teaching came when he said that Barack Obama was “Pastor-in-Chief”. On January 22, 2013, the Washington Examiner reported news of Andy Stanley and his “sermon” regarding Obama.
Christians are disappointed with Andy Stanley’s disgraceful Obama “sermon”. Obama refusea to follow God and refuses to repent of sin.
More faithful pastors, such as pastors Steven Andrew, Bill Keller, Wiley Drake, James Manning and Mark Driscoll all say that Obama isn’t a Christian. The reason is Jesus Christ says you know a tree by its fruit. A good tree doesn’t produce bad fruit.
This other USA NEWS FIRST story contains a partial list of Obama’s bad fruit such as removing crosses in the military and removing Bible verses from the Pentagon’s daily report. Many Christians think that Obama may be an antichrist, as 1 John says there are many antichrists.
“There is no credibility with Andy Stanley. The pastor-in-chief of the USA would humble themselves, pray, seek God’s face and call Americans to turn from their wicked ways. This includes all of the sins that Obama promotes such as abortion, homosexual sin, covetousness and removing crosses from the military. Obama is the unrepentant sinner-in-chief,” said an artist.
The Bible does warn of false teachers to watch out for.
Pastors point out that Andy Stanley seems to be missing basic Bible knowledge. The Holy Bible says:
“Should you help the wicked and love those who hate the LORD? Therefore the wrath of the LORD is upon you.” 2 Chronicles 19:2
“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful;” Psalm 1:1
“Moreover you shall select from all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them to be rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.” Exodus 18:21
“‘And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment.” Mark 12:30
“Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? …’” 2 Corinthians 4:14-18
Pastor Steven Andrew and Pastor Bill Keller called Americans to vote for Christians in 2011 and 2012 which would have brought God’s blessings for obeying His Word, instead several other perceived Christian “leaders” went against Scripture calling to vote for Mitt Romney, a Mormon who denies Jesus Christ. These wayward pastors ignored the Bible verses above, as well as others that say and are bringing God’s judgment for sin (Galatians 1:9, Galatians 6:7-8…).
“Doubts over Andy Stanley’s faithfulness to God have arisen in the past with some Christians questioning Stanley if he believes homosexuality is a sin. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 says that unrepentant homosexual sinners don’t go to Heaven. But even now Andy Stanley can publicly repent and make up his mind to be faithful to God and to the Holy Bible. That is how powerful Jesus’ blood is to cleanse from sin,” said an Independent voter.
One of the pastors who led Christians against Scripture with Mitt Romney was Pat Robertson. Robertson had taught – against God’s command to have those who rule in the fear of God (the true God) – by saying that we weren’t voting for a chief American pastor.
“I can’t understand why the 30,000 members in Andy Stanley’s church don’t go to a Biblical church that better teaches God’s Word. They would walk more closely with God and Americans would be blessed if they found a better church. Obama only knows non-Christian, or fringe ‘pastors’,” said a Bible school graduate wanting to see revival in the hearts of Americans.
